Our Story

Where it all began

Woodforde Group Consulting was built on a belief that recruitment could, and should, feel different.

Amanda Woodforde spent nearly two decades at the heart of the recruitment industry, rising from Division Manager to Vice President at a global firm. She knew how recruitment worked at its best. She also knew how it often fell short. Too transactional, too fast, and not nearly human enough.

So in 2020, she made a decision. Instead of continuing to work within a system she knew could be better, she built something new, from the ground up and on her own terms.

It started at her kitchen table with a team of two and a simple commitment. Fewer partnerships, deeper relationships, and genuine care for every person involved.

Six years on, Woodforde Group Consulting has grown into a national consultancy spanning three specialisations: Talent, Advisory and Care.

The team is bigger. The way we work hasn’t changed.

The team behind it

Between us we’ve got more than 100 years of recruitment behind us. What that really means is that whatever you’re hiring for, someone here has done it before — and you’ll be talking to them, not to someone learning on your vacancy.

Care. Growth. Impact.

Three words that decide what we do when nobody’s watching.

Care

  • You’re a partner, never a transaction.
  • We take the time to understand your business and where you’re heading.
  • Clients and candidates get the same honesty from us.
  • We think ahead so you can — market insight, salary advice, workforce planning.

Growth

  • We help businesses build teams that carry them forward, and help people take a step they’re proud of.
  • We help you build the team, not just close the vacancy.
  • Market insight and salary benchmarking, so you’re deciding with real information.
  • Permanent, contract or project work — we move as you do.

Impact

  • The right person changes things. We measure ourselves on what happens after they start.
  • It’s not skills on paper. It’s what someone does once they’re in the room.
  • Most of our work comes from people we’ve worked with before.
  • Every one of our team gets two paid community service days a year, and we support charitable organisations annually.

Everyone’s welcome here

We welcome people of all genders, abilities, ages and ethnicities, and we build that into how we recruit — diverse talent pools, unconscious bias training and performance-based hiring. An inclusive process isn’t an add-on. It’s just how we work.
